Check out this short clip of amazing underwater wetlands videography.
As someone who lived in Georgia 30+ years and travelled Florida appreciating the wetlands I had to share this with you.

I paint the wetlands with a passion but usually I paint what above the waterline.
These images are inspiring. Filmed by an 18 year old, I can only say brave young man. Did you see the alligator at the bottom of the wetland?

Art Commission Amalfi Coast The Cove II Watercolors and Ink

Art Commission Amalfi Coast Italy The Cove II Watercolors and Ink

Art Commission

Hello friends let me share with you a current art commission I am doing for a wonderful client of over 20 years. A Commission of  Amalfi Cost The Cove II after a painting I did in 2018 and it sold in 2022. The commission customer missed buying it, and it eventually sold to someone in Iceland. So she asked if I would try to do another one similar and I agreed.

Below are two videos showing part of the process painting with watercolors and ink. The visual is accompanied by wonderful music I licensed from artlist.io in the Jazz/Classical or blues genres. If you want an art commission contact me and I will put you in my calendar. Watercolor and ink paintings take about three to four weeks depending on size. My specific strengths lies in paintings of Italy, I love Amalfi Coast and Cinque Tree as well as Venice and buildings like bridges. I also am great in doing landscapes with trees. Trees are one of my strengths as well. Of course Nature paintings that include flowers and butterflies as well as other insects. If you browse my galleries you can see my repertoire over the last 30 years.

What to do when you want me to do an art commission painting for you? Simple first contact me and include a few details to give me and idea of your expectations for your custom painting/s. That will help me to immediately tell you if I can do the commission. After that we can go into more details. To save us some time I can say already, that I do not do portraits any longer and I do not do copies of other artists works.

Art Picture Navigation on Ginette Fine Art

Art Picture Navigation on Ginette Fine Art

Thank you friends for your comments and input. Recently I heard from a collector of mine mentioning problems with viewing images. So here I want to hopefully show how to see the images better. This blog post is called Art Picture Navigation on Ginette Fine Art and I hope it helps.

Websites like mine that sell or display art are very image heavy. After all, people want to see the artwork, details and as many images as possible. So Art Picture Navigation is is important but it can't eat up too much load time. That means sites could load very slowly, making Google unhappy possibly putting your site in the doghouse!

Art Picture navigation on Ginette Fine Art is processed and displayed with the latest technologies. Since I am not an expert in web design, I chose a template from WordPress that was specifically designed for displaying large images. There are a few click to navigate to where you can see them. Today I will show you how it works. It's actually simple once you have done it.

I made a short video to show you how Art Picture Navigation on Ginette Fine Art works, step by step. Please watch it in it's entirety, it's not long. Afterwards if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask. I am always happy to help.

Varnish an oil painting with Shiva Damar Resin

Varnish an oil painting with Shiva Damar Resin

How to varnish an oil painting? Watch me it’s really simple.

Damar resin is what I prefer for my oil paintings. It’s a natural tree resin that makes the colors of my artwork shine through or pop.

You also need a clean soft brush that you use ONLY for varnishing. Get a really good brush that does no drop bristles. To varnish an oil paintings is simple but having a terrible brush can make it a headache.

I will link to an interesting article that tells you more about this Resin Varnish
“Damar contains 62% resin, 23% dammarol acid and 2,5% of water. It is specially used in varnishing (*) due to its  low molecular weight and viscosity and high refractive index, which makes the underlying colors high saturated. Since 1826 dammar resin is used as main ingredient of picture varnishes of oil and tempera painting.” READ MORE

Arches Watercolor paper is my favorite

Arches Watercolor paper is my favorite

Arches cold press is my preferred watercolor paper

People ask me what watercolor paper I use. Arches is my favorite so I use it.

I used others in the past and one other favorite is not available anymore as far as I can tell. I bought it directly from France for a while but Arches is really so nice and I get it faster. The last time I purchased the watercolor paper from France was in 2017 I loved that even the smaller sheets had deckled edges. I have about 20 original watercolors painted on it.
Here is a video from 2017 when I last bough it, that's me unboxing it. Before you watch make sure you browse some of my wonderful originals CLICK THIS LINK it will open up a new tab

Let me show you what the Arches Watercolor block looks like

Artist seeking free overnight camping or parking

Artist seeking Free camping in Georgia?

Artist seeking Free camping or parking near Gibbs Gardens in Georgia!
I am an artist and would like to visit Gibbs Gardens in Georgia for about two or three days. Free camping seems to be impossible to find. I need some help or advise.  It has to be very affordable for staying within about 20 – 30 minute distance to the gardens. Free preferable and WiFi access if possible, but I’ll manage without it.

My wish is to go to Gibbs Gardens at least two days better three days for painting and taking photos for future paintings of the gardens. I have never been there and really want to make this happen now that the weather is getting a bit cooler. Free camping will be essential just need an overnight save place.

If you have any space or know of space to park my micro RV for night time. During the day I will be mostly at the gardens. Parking is for sleeping mostly. I am fully contained. I look for a place not too far from Planet Fitness where I have a membership and where I can shower. All I need is a save place to park legally to sleep at night.

Commission oil painting from start to finish palm trees and beach

Commission oil painting from start to finish palm trees and beach

A few weeks ago I began this commission oil painting and today I will post a video to show you what I did from start to finish. Not every brush stroke that would take forever, but simply share some of the process. A client from Atlanta Georgia,  who has purchased paintings from me for about 20 years wanted a really large oil painting for a new “Man Cave” or better “Man Island” he is creating in his house. It needed to be 9 feet tall and 3 feet wide for a very particular space. So he asked me if I could paint one, and of course
I said “I can do that!” It’s the largest commission oil painting I have done so far. This same client has bought over 20 paintings at least, over that many years. Just recently he added two mixed media paintings to his collection of musicians from his band. Those two paintings are in his house as well.

He wanted a large oil painting of a palm tree, some blue ocean, beach and palm trees and islands in the distance.  My usual style of painting is impressionist. But he wanted me to paint this one in a more realistic manner, more they way I painted when I first started out. A long time a go he purchased a painting I did of a ship at sea and he wanted something in that style. So of course that is what I did. I hope you enjoy some of this video.

If you too wold like me to paint a custom painting please contact me. If it is something really huge, I will travel and paint it on location near where you live. In case of this client he lives about 20 miles north of where he has a recording studio. He gave me access to the rehearsal room for the time it took me to paint this. The he had it picked up and taken to his house.

I must say, I had so much fun doing this project. It was work but it’s what i love to do. How many people can say they love every minute of their work? I do.
