Well today I sold six art prints from my galleries on ginetteprints.com
That’s is fantastic. Wish every day was a six prints day.
These art prints will hopefully be used in an upcoming TV series called “Gone”! Gone is an American procedural drama series. I dig these type of shows anyway.
TV shows and movies have what’s called set design and they use art in the design process. They license art or as in my case purchase prints, and later may or may not use them. You can read more about the show here: click on this link. Full cast and info on IMDB
The show is an international production by NBC Universal International and will be shot in Pittsburgh. Joining NBC as partners in the production are expected to be Germany-based RTL and TF1, based in France.
Based on the novel One Kick by Chelsea Cain, the drama “tells the fictional story of Kit “Kick” Lannigan (Leven Rambin), survivor of a famous child-abduction case, and Frank Booth (Chris Noth), the FBI agent who rescued her.”
So when I was approached by this company about art and read about the story of GONE, I was all ears. Sounds like it’s going to be a great plot and story to tell. As a survivor of child abuse, I relate to such stories. Child abuse survivor stories like this one I have to watch! I understand the main character becomes a martial arts expert and enters the FBI to work on abductions cases. Whatever happen to you in life, if it doesn’t kill you it will make you stronger. That’s for sure!
So set designers look for art. Set designers are in charge of, well…. designing sets for scenes in movies or TV shows. What they do is an artform in itself, creating the mood or background for a scene, character for the story that is being told. It’s very cool.
So they need art to hang on walls. I was approached about using my art and they ended up buying these prints today. I was told the set designer loves my work. Not sure why these paintings were specifically picked, but they are innocent and whimsical floral paintings and maybe that is why. One is an oil “On The Way To Grandma There Is A Tree I Love”!
So maybe one or all will end up somewhere on the set of “Gone”! I hope so and I hope I get more opportunities like this.
If you are going to watch that show and see my art let me know, I will be tickled to death about it.
Shoot me a message
I really want to see if I can follow this show. I don’t have cable so maybe they will have it on Amazon. I hope so.

This is how it goes sometimes. I start out with an idea a place, a scene in my head and then I begin my painting.
Most of the time I sketch out what I see in my minds eye. The tree is over there, the time of day suggests the light. Is it dawn, is it sunset, is it foggy and so on. Are there animals in the scene? Where are they?
Are there people, most of the time not. Not in my paintings. I like to be the invisible observer of places when there is nobody there. At least not in visible form, in spirit we are all everywhere at all times. Everything and everybody is connected.
That old saying “If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody there to hear it, does it make a sound”? comes to mind.
So in my paintings of the wetlands, the Okefenokee, the Florida Suwanee river, Savannah Bird Girl, the trees you will almost always find life, just not physical people.
In my latest piece I was inspired by the “Pink April Moon”. In case you missed it. Yes the moon was pink this past April 11th, 2017
This full moon was furthest from the earth and the moon was in Libra. The pink moon also called Strawberry moon and a few other names, but I like Pink Moon and Strawberry Moon, it congers up positive feelings and even sweet tastes.
So in my “Garden of Good and Evil” the good prevails with the power of the pink moon radiating throughout the my painting.
The “Bird Girl” of Savannah a steadfast witness holding her bowls of seeds for the birds, this time most of them, were eaten by the songbirds.
