Hummingbirds Song Watercolor Paintings

I love these tiny birds, that is why I paint them. There are about 300 species of Hummingbirds in the world. I have to admit I  take artistic liberty when I paint them. After studying the basic anatomy the rest is getting creative with the colors of feathers. Hummingbirds Song dominates with bright yellow and touches of orange. While blues and cool pinks make our main hummingbird pop out of the picture.

A second hummingbird hangs back blending with green. I call the painting Hummingbirds Song because to me they make music. With their appearance and fairy like charm they are little instruments of joy! That is what I want my painting to be joyful to look at.
