March 2022 art print sales are picking up

Finally march 2022 art print sales are picking up. January was bad, February was dismal, but March saw an increase.

So far I had ten art print sales. Whoever you lovely people are that buy my prints, I appreciate you very much. Selling originals is tough online. But art prints are very popular. Most of the time when someone likes an original, it’s the size or dimensions that are not what they need. So I paint an original and often get stuck with it. But over time end up selling many art prints in all kind of sizes of the same painting. Most people don’t buy art as  part of a collection. It’s just a piece of decoration for them. At best it brings back wonderful memories, and that is lovely in itself. I have no illusions after almost three decades of painting that I am somehow a great artist, or my art is a collectors dream, but at the end of the day I leave that judgement up to others. The truth about that is usually revealed when the artist dies. Yep at that point it won’t do me much good 😛

When I encounter real art collectors that buy a piece or two of original art, or even more, it’s a real satisfying experience. I had a few of those. I received some great compliments from a few buyers, those that bought more than one piece. Those words are very encouraging. In that regard I had been lucky. I remember a few customers that kept buying originals until they had no room left. That was fun. Today things seem to have changed from when I started to paint and sell my work.

Art prints are a favorite for the decorative market buyer, to pick the size they want is a major attraction and that is why my prints usually sell well. Let’s face it, even artists have a life, bills to pay, and dreams that cost at minimum some money. So selling art and art prints is a must. If I like it or not! 60% of my time is spend doing things like marketing, website posts like these, taking pictures of art processing pictures, and maybe 20% is spend painting. I HATE THAT! Anyone who thinks artists don’t work should spend some time with me.
