Moonlight In The Garden of good and Evil

Work In Progress 20 x 20 inch Moonlight in The Garden of good & Evil with Savannah Bird Girl

Painting is an oil as a  20 x 20 inch piece of one of my famous subjects. The infamous Bird Girl has by now come alive. She has gone from being a mere statue that graced the cover of John Berendt’s book Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil to a girl holding bird seed bowls as if they are scales measuring good and evil. I am continuing to paint her in my own garden of good & evil and make her come alive.

I prepared the canvas with my custom gesso made of plaster of paris, gel and marble dust.

Here is first picture. Paintings is not finished yet. But then they are never finished just abandoned! Who said that?

From Wikipedia:
The Okefenokee Swamp is a shallow, 438,000 acre (1,770 km²), peat-filled wetland straddling the Georgia–Florida border in the United States. A majority of the swamp is protected by the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the Okefenokee Wilderness. The Okefenokee Swamp is considered to be one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia. The Okefenokee is the largest “blackwater” swamp in North America. The term Okefenokee in Native American is “land of trembling earth”. The swamp was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1974
