The dogwood tree shows off every spring. In formal landscapes and natural setting this tree is every where.
To me is it one of the more graceful trees.

Dogwood is the subject of many of my oil paintings as well a watercolors. Every since I came to live in Georgia I developed a love for this tree. This charming gentle tree with its lovely flowers grows seemingly everywhere and speckles the landscape with white blossoms.

This oil painting  is a small gem. Please see the close up images to really get a feel for the detail brushstrokes, the texture and the overall lushness of this oil painting. 
I probably say it too many times, but my role models are the great impressionist and post impressionists like Vincent Van Gogh. That is the era of art and painting I modeled myself after. 

It would be far from me to try to copy these great painters but I am in love with that style as far as oil painting is concerned and that is what I thrive for. The thick paint, the colors. In this piece I have teal green, orange hues, peach tones and off white. I hope you like and buy!
