Autumn Bird Migration is one of my favorite times, where I can observe Birds and hear their chatter. I love them.

Painting birds is a bit of an obsession of mine.  Can you imagine autumn without the huge flocks of birds gathering in trees and many other places? I can’t. It’s hard for me to imagine a sky without birds in it, that is why you find them in almost all my outside paintings.

My painting has gorgeous autumn colors and notice my funny trees. Many trees where I lived in France and Germany had their branches trimmed and then when they grow back they look odd.

I used my usual brush and knife technique and LOTS OF OIL PAINT. Paint has become hugely expensive compared to when I first started to paint. I would say prices have tripled, but I still use nothing but paint. No fillers, no gels, no gums or resins to make it appear as more paint. What you see in the close up pictures is real oil paint, just in a traditional museum quality artwork.
