Paris Unity March Watercolor Painting

I tried to capture the incredible energy and atmosphere at Place de la Republique in Paris in Paris France on this Historical day. The date was January 11th 2015
The energy, the power of the people when united is a sight to see. Especially united for good, for peace, for rights, for nation, patriotism and love of country. These are all good things.
I was born in France and I know the French people are good hard working people. They have pride in their language, their culture but also lots of love for humanity. They are good people.

Today we see the yellow vest movement. The rise of the poor, the unrepresented, the unheard. The yellow vest is something everyone in France is required to carry in their cars in case of emergency.

The yellow vest (gilet jaune) is now a symbol of the voices of the unheard masses. The young, the old, the sick, the working poor. They are saying “Hear Us” (Écoutez-nous) “we Are The People” (nous sommes les gens). We are not taking it anymore (Nous ne le prenons plus).
