Amalfi Coastline a panorama packed into a small watercolor & ink painting, it’s a charming almost whimsical piece.
The palette is blues, red, green a primary color palette. Amalfi is one of the most popular cities on the coastline to visit. It has attractions like Piazza Duomo. A bustling square that leads off Via Lorenzo, and is one of the main thoroughfares in Amalfi. I just finished a painting of the Catholic Cathedral of Saint Andrew.
The front façade was build with striped marble and stone. 62 steps lead up to the doors, Cast in Constantinople before 1066, and signed by Simeon of Syria, the cathedral’s bronze doors are the earliest in Italy of post-Roman manufacture. It was a real joy to work this painting of a true Amalfi Coast treasure.
