Tuscan Grapes Painting Alexa 2

Description

Just as Alexa opens her eyes and stretches her arms and legs awakening from a wonderful sleep, she catches a glimpse of gorgeous red Tuscan grapes to remind her just how thirsty she is. 

Then there is a gentle knock at the door. A voice whispers Alexa? Are you awake? Alexa? Yes mother Alexa replied forcefully, I just woke up, common in.

The door swung open and Caroline came in with a tray that she put on Alexa’s bedside table. She ran over to the windows and hurriedly opened the curtains to reveal a gorgeous view of the gardens right outside Alexa’s window. “look at this Alexa, what a view, the sun has just come over the hills isn’t it wonderful?” drawing out every words like stretched on a rubber band

Caroline is a very expressive person and never misses an opportunity to gloat at nature’s glory. “Did you sleep well dear?” she asked Alexa, never taking her eyes off the large window bathed in sunlight. “Yes mother I did!”

“Could you please break off a few of these Tuscan Grapes for me, they look so juicy?” Caroline walks to the table in the center of this large room, a table fit to seat at least nine people. Adorned in the center with a large ornate vessel, filled with Moretti’s own table grapes. These are not the same used to make the Vino, but especially produced in small amounts just for the family and guests. She takes the whole display and turns when Alexa stops her laughingly “Mother not the whole thing, just a few!”
“Oh of course, ha, I am so excited, we will have such a great time, so glad you are here darling!” “Let me pour you some coffee!” “Thank you Mother!” Alexa replied with a loving smile, as their eyes met.

The tray not only held hot aromatic Italian roast coffee but also a generous piece of brioche al cioccolato. “What is this Mother?” asked Alexa pointing at the brioche. Oh this is delicious. It’s a brioche cake of sorts with a chocolate filling. It’s traditional Italian. You’ll love it!” I am sure my hips will too, Alexa giggled. Taking a bite out of the pastry. 

“All right sweety!” Caroline is speaking breathlessly, in anticipation of a busy day ahead, “I will let you be for a while, so you can have your breakfast and get ready. You’ll meet the whole family much later today for dinner. Everything has been delayed. Because of the birthday preparation for Ariana. I’m afraid you won’t meet everyone until later today. Our hosts are Donna and Vincenzo Moretti. Vincenzo left very early to check on some vineyard business but should be back soon. I see you still have to unpack and if you need anything I am in the kitchen with Donna and your father has gone to the village and should be back soon too!”

Caroline plants a big kiss on her daughter’s forehead and heads for the door, but stops abruptly and in a cheeky voice, looking over her shoulder, she says “Oh and don’t forget you will also meet Donna & Vincenzo’s youngest son, Gabriel, she winks her eye!” M-O-T-H-E-R you are … I don’t know what you are. Alexa replies “Don’t try to fix me up!” Ok?
“OK OK !”Caroline replies, “See you later gorgeous daughter!” With that she is out of the door.
