Savannah Georgia Bird Girl Oil Painting
Among my favorite cities to visit was Savannah, Georgia. The book by john Berendt “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: A Savannah Story” made the Georgia City famous. From the architecture to the mysterious Bonaventure cemetery it’s an intriguing atmosphere
The statue of the Bird Girl which was used for the book cover, had to be moved in order to protect it. Savannah has something special, eerie unspoken, permanent, traditional but much more than that. You expect traditions but you also may just get weird instead. The book really hits it right on. A movie was also made directed and produced by Clint Eastwood.
Bird Girl is a sculpture made in 1936 by Sylvia Shaw Judson in Lake Forest, Illinois.
