I love cooking, growing my own vegetables when possible, painting Food Art and studying the principle of
"Let Food Be Thy Medicine"! In that spirit I paint various produce that are superbly healthy and beautiful. Red onions are really beautiful.
Red Onions are at the top of a list of powerful medicinal food, allowing us to treat conditions that have to do with the immune system, skin problems hair loss and more. Red Onions and onion skins contain QUERCETIN which is a powerful antioxidant and anti histamine.

There are few hardy dishes that I fix, that do not contain onions. I use them a lot and recently I even made an onion infusion that is great for treating cough and congestion. I learned that way back when I was a child, from my grandmother. All sort of onions have healthy and healing properties.
Here red onions made their way into my food art series. I got to use glorious reddish purple and pink tones, soft touches of green, blue and neutral. Making food art really allows me to dip into some of the most brilliant hues!
Onions are among the many food paintings/drawings I created over the years. Knowing your food, growing it when possible and understanding that the power of many garden vegetables and wild plants goes way beyond culinary nourishment. Indeed most make up a pharmacopeia that is accessible to everyone who looks for it.
