Russian Impressionist Oil Painting Blue Heron

The wetland is an endless tableaux of inspiration for an impressionist painter like myself.

This Blue Heron allowed me to observe him for a while while patiently waiting for dinner to swim by.

I used my impressions to create this interpretation of my vision in rich oil paints using brush and palette knife. Russian Impressionist oil Painting is different from French impressionism. I think it is much more expressive and bold. The use of the palette knife is particularly interesting, it is very passionate. That is my opinion.

I would say my style of impressionism is very contemporary, maybe influenced by Russian Impressionist artist Nicolai Fechin.

The use of my palette knife is very visible. Maybe there is a touch of Van Gogh in the colors and whimsical feel of this piece.

I can not help myself I see color everywhere and I see magic and beauty especially in nature. The wetlands of Georgia and Florida, as well as South Carolina, have given me much to paint about over the last 25 years.

This painting has some strokes that are influenced by my admiration for Nicolai Fechin
