Mockingbird  Oil Painting 

I have a Mockingbird entertaining me every year. She made herself at home in my humble garden.
I guess I am partial to her chatter. I know some people are not. Mrs. Mockingbird constant changing tunes and rhythms are unmistakable but unfortunately can’t be captured on canvas. But her long elegant tail and grayish brown feathers can. I hope I did Mrs. Mockingbird justice.

This kind of Mockingbird is the Northern Mimus polyglottos. Indeed what you hear about them being fearless is true. I see them many times attacking other birds. Mockingbirds don’t take chances as some cats can attest to. They just don’t take any chances. There are actually many different Mocking birds in many parts of the world.
