Leora in the Garden with Ollie. Grandma’s Apple Tree.
Painted in January 2024. Part of a series of paintings with my girl Leora. My alter ego, the one that survived childhood and remembers the best times only, the one that had to grow up overnight at the age of about nine. After that all the innocent things went away and the lonely struggle began.
Grandma’s apple tree and the old world flower garden, Leora is plucking a nice red apple while her friend, her new Golden Retriever pup watches. She named him Ollie.
Impressionist brushstrokes and delicate palette knife work make this one of my best works. I am totally happy with this piece.
