Recently I had the pleasure to be invited to a nice couple's home to show some of my art. On that occasion I got to drink some of the famed Limoncello.

Made from the lemons called "sfusato amalfitano" is is a sweet but lemony liquor that warms your toes!
A real treat it was. Thank you Laura and Harry for your hospitality and for purchasing some of my art prints!

Amalfi is famous for it's outstanding and unusually large lemons. I painted a few of them over the past years. They have dimples and such a rumply, textured skin, it's an artists delight to paint them. Amalfi if probably one of Italy's most visited cities, located on the Gulf of Salerno, in the region of Campagnia in the province of Salerno, it attracts people from around the world that appreciate the culture and the maritime lifestyle. I have been there many times in my dreams. Whenever I go to see and experience it in person, I will make sure to also visit the "Museum of Handmade Paper" that would be a great interest to me. Amalfi was one of the main places where handmade paper was made and it is said the Amalfitans learned the craft from the Arabs.

This painting is my vision or interpretation of sailing past Amalfi and seeing it broken up in colorful pixels. The modern Impressionist almost abstract approach is one I favor.
